| Well I will be on leave from the 22 of November to the 27. I will be up in the mountains later in the evening of Thanksgiving. Let me know where to drive to... Maybe the last place across from the waterfall site. So I will be looking to break my jeep again in the salt sheds.

| It's going to be the 22nd to the 25th. http://www.nomadoffroad.com/Events.htmI think that the big camp site by the gate on dry run should be good. We scouted the site and the teardrop can safely make it through the by-pass around the stream. The water level has been super low. Obviously if the water level rises more than 6 inches the tear drop can't make it so we will camp at an alternate. It's closer to the trails and 33 and provides more entertainment close by. So barring a flood that's the plan. Dry run has been grated, there's a street sign now, and the water level has been damn low so it should be good. Hope to see you there. Here's a quick map for reference. | |

| The only reason an escape campfire resulted in a forest fire is because there is a serious lack of fire/suppression management. Since we been goin up to GW I wondered why they didnt have controlled burns. Fuel is so abundant its a wonder why there were'nt more fires...............rant,rant,rant.............................................. | |

| Bottom line this is yet another reactionary government policy based off of something occuring in California.
The funny thing is that the causes of the fires in CA are from downed powerlines and an arsonist...not campfires.
But hey maybe I'm just bitter. | |

| Hmm going to have to think about this. Kind of defeats the purpose if we can't have a camp fire. But maybe I'm being cranky. | |

| Bad-ish News folks. Looks like I won't be making it this year. Laura can't get the weekend off so she can't make it. So I am going to spend Turkey weekend in MD with here most likely. Have fun and take tons of pictures.
Peace | |
